Waterbury Hospital Announces Grand Opening of Coffee
Bar
Kelly’s Expresso Bar to serve coffee, cold drinks,
snacks in hospital lobby
WATERBURY – Visitors
and employees passing through the entrance to Waterbury
Hospital have a new place to stop for a hot coffee or
pastry as they pass through the hospital’s revolving
front door. Kelly’s Expresso Bar, owned and operated by
Kelly Yordon, had its grand opening March 1 as a steady
stream of curious visitors and employees stopped by to
try a wide variety of coffee blends, cold drinks and
snacks such as bagels, turnovers and muffins.
The new coffee bar replaces the
former Zuzu coffee bar in the lobby, which closed Jan.
31. Kelly’s Expresso Bar leases the space from the
Waterbury Hospital Auxiliary, Inc., which in turn leases
the space from the hospital.
“We are very excited about this new
vendor,” said Mary Calvo, RN, President of the
Auxiliary. “We think people will really enjoy the
coffees and other delicious items that are now being
offered.”
Kelly’s Expresso Bar is now open
from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and
will also be open for some weekend hours, though weekend
hours of operation have not yet been determined. After 4
p.m., the coffee bar also offers soups and salads.
“We’re very pleased to provide this
new service for our guests and our employees,” said
Steven Jalowiec, the hospital’s Administrative Director
for Facility Operations.
